Mason Strong

Mason's Story: April 15, 2021 is the day that changed 20 year old Penn Manor graduate and current Shippensburg University student Mason Sottek's life forever. A visit to the doctor for a rash on his forearm resulted in the shocking diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Mason spent the following 5 weeks at CHOP undergoing aggressive treatment, followed by a one week respite at home. He returned to CHOP for his second round and is now home again, soon to return to CHOP for round 3 of intensive treatment. A fierce competitor on and off the field, Mason spent his formative years battling it out on the gridiron as a Penn Manor comet and on the ice as a Central Penn Panther. Yet the biggest battle he's ever faced stands before him now.
